Scrumban: Combining Scrum and Kanban
Corey Ladas wrote a classic essay on Scrum-ban where he discusses Scrum and Kanban hybrids. He presents the concept of index card and explains that Kanban is more than just a work request on a card and putting sticky notes on a whiteboard is not enough to implement a pull system. He proposes a few simple practices that move a Scrum approach towards a more recognizably lean workflow. This leads to make the planning process more efficient and more responsive. The first step beyond Scrum is to decouple the planning and release periods. The end state of this evolution is pull or prioritization-on-demand.
