Inside a Holacracy Implementation
Holacracy is a method of decentralized management and organizational governance in which authority and decision-making are distributed throughout autonomous, self-organising teams (circles). Alignment is achieved through a hierarchy of nested circles in which each higher circle defines the purpose for its lower circle(s). Decisions are made by consent, that is the absence of objections, rather than by majority vote.
iQmetrix began an implementation of Holacracy in earnest in the Fall of 2016. It is a deliberate choice to embrace a new operating system to guide how we adapt, stay aligned and more fully benefit from the creativity and energy of all our colleagues. After one year, the organization has made significant progress and has learned a lot. Let’s check in and see some of the experiences – the challenges and the exciting results – that have iQmetrix committing to this self-managed future. In this video, Nevin Danielson presents his experience and perspective from roles of Holacracy Facilitator, Holacracy Coach and Personal Organizing System Coach at iQmetrix.
